How to do more push up variations

So you know how to do a push up. If you don't then CLICK HERE for a quick tutorial. Anyways, many people out there say that push ups cannot target the entire chest and not very good for your joints etc. I say to them, %$#^ YOU man! In all seriousness, if you want to become a professional bodybuilder then I might agree with this statement, but if you want to be fit (like a cover model) then you just need to change your hand positions to target a different part of your chest. If you want to target the top part of the chest (replacement of   incline bench press), you can try the push up as shown below.


Place your hands wider than the shoulders and almost at shoulder height as shown above.


Come down as if doing a normal push up. This will target your upper chest.

If you want to target the lower part of the chest (replace the decline bench press), try the following push up.


Place your hands quite low as shown above. Make sure your body is straight.

Do a normal push up keeping your elbows close to your body. This will give definition to the lower part of your chest.
